Target shooting is a sport, which is enjoyed by both male and female, young and old, able bodied and people with disabilities, people with good eyesight or those who have the need to wear glasses, in fact people from all walks of life.

The Cashmere Smallbore Target Shooting Club, which is located in Cashmere / Beckenham, Christchurch, and has been in operation for over 100 years.  We are affiliated members of Target Shooting New Zealand.

Our shooting range at Cashmere is a 25 yard indoor facility which caters for smallbore (.22) rim fire rifles only. Some of our members participate in a variety of target shooting sports, including…

  • 20 and 25 Yard Indoor Smallbore (.22) Shooting
  • Air Rifle Indoor Shooting
  • 50 meter outdoor Smallbore (.22) at McLeans Island

We welcome anyone wanting to try the sport. The cost for a Casual Shooter is $20.00 per target which includes 13 shots. This includes all the equipment needed, rifle , ammunition and targets and coaching. No prior experience or license is needed. We suggested a minimum age of 12 years is a good age to start. Target Shooting a very safe sport, with safety measures vigorously enforced.
